WWE United States Title Match Announced for WWE Backlash, Updated PPV Card
As seen on WWE Smackdown tonight, Randy Orton defeated Rusev and Bobby Roode to become the new #1 contender to the WWE U.S. Title. Orton will face Mahal for the gold at WWE Backlash taking place on May 6th at The Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
Following tonight’s WWE Smackdown, below is the updated WWE Backlash PPV card:
WWE Intercontinental Title Match:
-Seth Rollins (c) vs The Miz
WWE U.S. Title Match:
-Jinder Mahal (c) vs Randy Orton
-Samoa Joe vs Roman Reigns. As of now it remains unknown whether or not the match will be for the WWE Universal Title, but if Reigns can successfully defeat Brock Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, then the Backlash bout will very likely become for Reigns’ newly won title.
