WWE Toymaker Mattel Rejects Buyout Offer

It has been announced that Toymaker Mattel, who currently is the maker of WWE toys and action figures, has rejected a proposed buyout from Hasbro.
The potential deal was first reported last week in a move that would have combined two of the biggest toymakers in the United States, however, Mattel has said that Anti-trust laws and complaints that their offer undervalued the company as the reasons for putting a halt to the deal.
This is not the first time that the two companies have been in talks. They had gone to the table with similar deals back in 1996 and again only a few years ago sometime in 2015.

Mattel currently owns the rights to produce WWE toys and was behind the WWE Slam City series for the WWE Network. They also are the company that produces Hot Wheels toy cars as well as Monster High dolls along with the iconic Barbie Dolls. Hasbro is the company that produces the My Little Pony franchise as well as Transformers and G.I. Joe.
WWE has made no comment on the potential deal nor it’s failure in this latest go around for the two big toy companies as of yet.
