WWE Backlash PPV Lineup: 3 Matches Set For First SmackDown Live PPV

As seen on this week’s SmackDown Live show, which took place from Uncasville, CT. on Tuesday night, WWE introduced the new SmackDown Live Women’s and Tag-Team Championships. The first champions for each title will be decided in matches at the promotion’s first brand-exclusive pay-per-view event in September. Also announced on the show was the next WWE Championship defense of Dean Ambrose.
WWE Backlash emanates from the Richmond, Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia, on Sunday, September 11th, and will feature Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles for the WWE Championship as the brand’s first pay-per-view headliner.
In separate title matches on the show, the vacant Women’s and Tag-Team Titles will be on the line. The Women’s Title will be decided in a Six-Pack Challenge match with Nikki Bella vs. Natalya vs. Becky Lynch vs. Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss vs. Carmella, while the Tag-Team Titles will be determined in the Finals of the SmackDown Live Tag-Team Tournament.
