Why The Rock Isn’t Hosting Academy Awards

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson took to Twitter today to address why he isn’t hosting the Academy Awards. In the wake of Kevin Hart stepping down from the ceremony due to homophobic jokes/tweets, The Rock’s name has been floated by many. The Rock revealed that he was actually the first choice to host the ceremony, but had to decline due to his shooting schedule for the upcoming Jumanji. The Academy Awards will air without a host on Feb. 24th.
