Tinder says these star signs get the most matches

Whether you’re an avid horoscope reader and believer or think the stars can’t possibly have any influence over your life, particularly where love is concerned, it seems when it comes to your online dating life astrology actually has a big part to play.

In a new statement, juggernaut dating app Tinder has revealed that the online dating stars do indeed align for particular star signs, with some signs of the zodiac receiving more ‘swipes right’ than other signs.

The dating app did a deep dive into data provided by its Australian users and came up with some very star-tling results. For example, if you’re a Gemini vegetarian woman like Elle Woods in Legally Blonde (the vegetarian part is not relevant to Tinder, but is certainly relevant to Elle’s identity) you’re number seven on the list behind bewitching Scorpios and vivacious Leos among others, in attracting matches.

On the gentlemen’s side, potential matches are swiping right most often on two of the three earth signs, with dependable Taurus the number one sign for men and logical, organised Virgo the number two most swiped right sign for men. Inexplicably, the third earth sign, ambitious Capricorn, gets the least amount of swipes rights of the 12 zodiac stars, proving once again the stars are a mysterious business indeed.

According to Tinder, this is how the star signs rank in terms of attracting swipe rights for women (from most popular to least): Scorpio, Leo, Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Capricorn, Gemini, Aquarius, Libra, Aries, Sagittarius, Pisces.

On the gents side, Tinder says their data tells them this is how the zodiac signs rank in terms of attracting swipes to the right (from most swipe rights to least): Taurus, Virgo, Pisces, Aquarius, Libra, Scorpio, Aries, Leo, Gemini, Cancer, Sagittarius, Capricorn.

Tinder hasn’t provided information on whether the star signs getting the most swipes right actually translate to matches or even love, that’s probably a question for another day and data set.
