The best street style from Helsinki fashion week spring/summer 2020

Summers in Helsinki are languorous and sunny – what better time, then, for the industry to gather in the Finnish capital for its annual fashion week? 

Between July 19 and 22, the Nordic showcase will feature an eclectic range of local and international designers, united by their dedication to sustainability. Supply chain transparency and the use of eco-friendly textiles are both high on the agenda, alongside a new ban on animal-derived leather in all exhibited garments, the first of its kind implemented at a major fashion week.

Off the catwalk, the city’s most stylish residents are out in force, championing the hottest new brands to know. Expect floaty, floral dresses, block-colour separates and thoughtful accessorising as photographer Søren Jepsen scours the streets in search of the best-dressed showgoers.
