Street style inspiration from Oslo Fushion Festival spring/summer 2020

After its cancellation earlier this year, Oslo Fashion Week is back for spring/summer 2020—but this time, as a reformatted three-day festival called Fushion. The biannual event, spearheaded by Oslo Runway and Collective Oslo Fashion Art Festival, is running from August 28 to 30 and aims to bring together the worlds of fashion, art, lifestyle and music.

The change reflects a global shift when it comes to fashion weeks—Stockholm Fashion Week spring/summer 2020 was cancelled in July to focus on launching a more sustainable alternative, while London Fashion Week will sell show tickets to the public, press and buyers for the first time come September. Fushion’s organisers have described the festival as “street level and open to everyone”, explaining that although it will continue to be a “traditional show arena for Norwegian designers”, there will also be talks, exhibitions, launches and parties throughout Oslo city centre.

Following a successful spring/summer 2020 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, rising Norwegian fashion house Holzweiler features on the Oslo schedule, partnered with artist Ali Gallefoss. Other names to look out for include former Acne Studios womenswear designer Michael Olestad, cult jewellery brand Maria Black and wool outerwear label ESP. The Epson Award, which recognises emerging designers working with digital fabric printing, will also be announced as part of the line-up.

When it comes to street style, Oslo’s creative set does not disappoint. Expect to see Scandi-cool at its finest: printed dresses teamed with trainers, laid-back jumpsuits and relaxed tailoring—all photographed direct from the Norwegian capital by Vogue’s Søren Jepsen.
