Spurs to play ‘unhappy’ Fulham instead of Villa on Wednesday
Spurs’ fixture against Aston Villa on Wednesday has been cancelled and Fulham will now play Jose Mourinho’s men in the same slot.
Tottenham were due to face Aston Villa on Wednesday but the match was thrown into doubt, with 10 Villa first-teamers having tested positive for coronavirus.
It is understood Fulham were approached about playing Spurs this Wednesday. However, it does represent a significant and disruptive challenge for the west Londoners after their own Covid outbreak.

The Cottagers also played 120 minutes in the FA Cup against QPR on Saturday and face near-neighbours Chelsea on Friday.
Villa were forced to close their Bodymoor Heath training ground last Thursday and fielded a blend of under-23 and under-18 players in their FA Cup third-round defeat to Liverpool the following day.
And now The Athletic claim that Spurs ‘will play Fulham on Wednesday night rather than Aston Villa’ with the report adding that ‘Fulham are unhappy with facing Spurs at short notice as they are currently expected to also play Chelsea on Friday’.
The Athletic continues by claiming that the Cottagers ‘are still scheduled to play Chelsea on Friday’.
