Shoe brand Margaux redefining the way footwear is sized and sold

Comfortable footwear that doesn’t compromise style is fast-becoming
the norm and the women behind Margaux are working to meet the demand.

Sarah Pierson and Alexa Buckley were inspired to start the footwear
brand after working in the corporate world and becoming all too familiar
with the lack of shoes that were fit for a busy workday while being
aesthetically appealing.

“We were convinced that there should be
(and could be) a shoe that combined form and function, and ensured that a
woman could feel dressed and beautiful – while remaining comfortable – all
day long,” Buckley told FashionUnited in an email interview. “From here we
set out to create the perfect ballet flat: A shoe that could take you any
place you want to go, with confidence and chic.”

Margaux has
acquired a devoted fanbase by dedicating themselves to customer needs. Each
pair of shoes is crafted from Italian leather and made in a family-owned
factory in Spain. The company prides itself on offering products that solve
problems and brings something new to the table. Among the items offered are
demis, classics, pointe shoes, sandals and heels – each available in a wide
range of colors.

Pierson and Buckley were also motivated by a 2014
study that revealed 88 percent of women are wearing the wrong size shoes.
This is due to the limited sizes that are sold by most brands. Margaux
offers an extended range of sizes and three widths at every half size.
There is also a made-to-measure service that allows buyers to order a
Fitting Kit online and order shoes tailored to their needs.

“We’ve
found that principle is absolutely crucial in allowing you to rise above
the noise and build a lasting brand,” Buckley said. “For Margaux, it’s

customers in ways that didn’t previously exist, and develop an unbelievably
