Roman Reigns’ Next Feud & Raw Show, Angle Says Losing Was Right
Roman Reigns is officially back on the road with WWE once again full time. Reigns announced that he had entered remission for leukemia treatment a couple of months ago, and he made his return to singles action in dominant fashion by defeating Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 35 last weekend. Surprisingly, Reigns never made a single onscreen appearance during Raw the night after WrestleMania. He was backstage though and later came out in front of the crowd to help say goodbye to the departing Dean Ambrose. What exactly is going on with the former Universal Champion at the moment? New reports suggest that WWE does have plans for Reigns and he will be back on Raw once again very soon.
WWE has just confirmed that Roman Reigns will be back on Raw again this Monday night. This will mark his first appearance on television since defeating McIntyre at WrestleMania. WWE.com is also teasing that Reigns may begin feuding with his best friend, Seth Rollins, during the show. Rollins defeated Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35. Don’t forget that Reigns was forced to surrender the title when he announced that his leukemia had returned. Given that Reigns never did lose the championship, it does seem like “The Big Dog” would be interested in going for the gold again as soon as possible. Expect to find out what WWE has planned for Reigns during the Superstar Shakeup edition of Raw on Monday.
During WrestleMania 35, the in-ring career of one of the most celebrated athletes in WWE history came to an end. WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle competed in his farewell match during the event. Baron Corbin would go on to defeat the former world champion during the show. Although some fans took issue with Corbin being selected as Angle’s last opponent, Angle believes it was the right call to make. During a Q&A on his Facebook page, Angle says that it was wise of him to lose to Corbin since the latter is the one who will continue wrestling while he was on his way out. In pro wrestling, the departing veteran traditionally puts over the young and rising star in his final match, and Angle decided to do the same.
“Many people believe that I should have had a different opponent. Maybe. Maybe not. But my argument as to why it should have been Corbin is pretty strong. As a HOFer and Legend in WWE, I came to my final match last Sunday. It was my retirement match. As a legend or HOFer or- whatever you want to call me, my job is to leave the WWE by doing the honors for a younger talent. I did that. I would have loved to have won, but I don’t think I would have properly played my role if I did.” Angle wrote.
