Rodon: ‘Spectacular’ Ndombele does special things ‘all the time’
Spurs midfielder Tanguy Ndombele does ‘spectacular’ things in training ‘all the time’, according to teammate Joe Rodon.
The 24-year-old scored a brilliant goal as Spurs beat Sheff Utd 3-1 away from home yesterday.
Ndombele chipped the ball over keeper Aaron Ramsdale with an acrobatic effort from an acute angle.

Speaking about Ndombele’s talents, Rodon said: “He’s a very top player and the goal doesn’t surprise me to be honest because he does spectacular things in training all the time.
“I’m delighted for him. I think the club bought him for a reason. He’s a top player and he’s only going to get better and better, the more games he plays.
“Hopefully he becomes what we all think he can be – an elite player.”
Ndombele had a tough start to life in England after joining from Lyon for a £63 million fee.
He made 21 appearances in the Prem last term as boss Jose Mourinho didn’t seem to trust him.
Mourinho has given the Frenchman more opportunities this season and his faith has been restored.
Ndombele has formed a great relationship with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the Spurs midfield.
His stunning goal against Sheff Utd was the icing on the cake.
The midfielder had no right to beat Ramsdale while facing away from goal, but that’s exactly what he did.
The goal left the Blades with little hope of a comeback. When asked about Ndombele’s situation after the victory, Mourinho told reporters: “When Tanguy arrived here his condition was not good. When I arrived he was getting small injury after small injury which I believe was his responsibility.
“And for him to realise that he had to change, and work in a different way, is to his credit. Yes, he is playing and playing well. We are happy with him. But, I repeat, it’s total credit to Tanguy.”
Spurs’ next match is against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup on Monday 25th January.
