Reported Reason Why Timothy Thatcher Has Signed With WWE
A recent report from Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Radio has provided more information on why Timothy Thatcher has signed with WWE.
It was announced earlier this week that Thatcher was signed to WWE alongside Killer Kross in what was a tremendous announcement for the company. Thatcher was quite an unexpected name that fans didn’t expect to join WWE, despite his history with WALTER and Marcel Barthel.
During the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer reported that Thatcher didn’t have his heart set on signing with WWE and actually wanted to work in Japan.
Below is what Meltzer had to say on the situation (H/T to Cultaholic.com)
“The deal with Thatcher is he’s 36 years old and he’s been trying to get a deal in Japan and has been unsuccessful in getting the deal in Japan. That was his goal and at some point, you go in there and just go ‘it’s not happening.’ The year they had WrestleMania in San Jose and Chris Hero wrestled Thatcher in San Jose, I think it was on an EVOLVE show. Ever since then Thatcher’s been on their radar, so it’s been like almost five years and he’s had an open offer to come.”
It is currently unknown when Thatcher will officially debut in WWE.
