Real Madrid youngster Miguel Gutierrez has snubbed the opportunity of working under Jose Mourinho for the second time, according to reports.

The 19-year-old is part of the youth set-up at Madrid, playing for the Castilla side and is yet to make his first senior appearance for Los Blancos.

However, he is very highly rated at the club with Zinedine Zidane keen to work with youngster as he continues to blossom.

Defensa Central claim that Mourinho ‘has made no secret of his interest in’ Gutierrez with the Real Madrid youngster understood to be ‘very fond’ of the Spurs boss.

The report adds that Mourinho ‘tried to sign him when he coached Manchester United’ and that the Spanish youth international has ‘rejected Mourinho’s offer’ to join Spurs.

Juventus and Inter Milan also want Gutierrez but Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ‘not willing to lose one of his best’ young players.

Gutierrez ‘promised his grandfather’ that he would play for Real Madrid one day and Zidane is ‘very aware’ of the youngster’s talents.

Spain under-17 coach David Gordo gave Gutierrez a glowing reference recently, he told AS: “If they give him minutes and he plays games, he will be a top left-back.

“He has the characteristics of the perfect left-back for Real Madrid. He is a Primera-level player, for sure.”

Meanwhile, Gareth Southgate doesn’t think Tottenham striker Harry Kane has been impacted by the speculation over his future.

Southgate said: “No, he’s so focused. I had a chat with him, as I do with all of the players when they come into the camp, and he’s very positive about the club.

“He was talking about only being a couple of points off the Champions League, in a League Cup final and you can see his focus in the game the other day.

“He scored a fantastic goal and an excellent assist as well, so I’ve got no worries about Harry Kane. He’s a fantastic professional.

“His focus is always on the next training session, the next match and he’s somebody that can absolutely put anything to one side.”
