Princess Beatrice’s boyfriend accompanied her to visit The Queen at Balmoral

Over the weekend, reports Princess Beatrice, 31, and her sister, Princess Eugenie, 29, brought their significant others, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank respectively, to the British royal family’s holiday home, Balmoral Castle, where The Queen and Prince Philip are currently enjoying their annual summer holiday.

The publication reports The Queen’s son, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, were also spotted travelling to Balmoral and Prince Andrew was pictured accompanying his mum, The Queen, to church on Sunday.

While Princess Eugenie, her husband Jack Brooksbank, Prince Andrew and Princess Beatrice visiting Balmoral is not unusual — the annual trip to Balmoral is always an extended family affair — Princess Beatrice’s boyfriend, Mozzi’s, presence is noteworthy, as is Sarah Ferguson’s, particularly for the romantic royal fans among us who love a royal wedding.

Since the news that Princess Beatrice of York had found love with property developer Mozzi first surfaced last year, the couple have reportedly been getting quite serious. They made their red carpet debut together at the National Portrait Gallery’s gala in March this year and then attended Lady Gabriella Windsor’s royal wedding to Thomas Kingston in May. Now, they’re holidaying with Princess Beatrice’s family in Scotland, a holiday that also reportedly happens to include both her divorced parents and her grandmother, The Queen.

Princess Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson’s, presence at Balmoral could be nothing more than the family spending time together — Ferguson has spoken about how close she and her ex-husband, Prince Andrew, are and have even sparked rumours of a rekindled romance recently — but her presence could also be something else far more significant, such as her daughter announcing her engagement and gathering the whole family together to celebrate the lovely news.

But, even without any engagement news yet, Princess Beatrice bringing Mozzi to Balmoral is an important indicator of just how serious the couple are. The Queen reportedly loves her annual holiday at Balmoral and enjoys having her family visit — Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, were also there over the weekend reports — so it tracks that Mozzi must be considered part of the family to be included in The Queen’s favourite vacation.
