Nuno tells Paratici to sign England ‘lieutenant’ for Spurs
Nuno Espirito Santo wants Spurs to target Wolves captain Conor Coady if he takes over in north London.
Tottenham’s search for a new manager has been a long-drawn-out process, with Steven Gerrard the latest to be linked with the vacant position.
But Nuno is now the ‘leading contender’ to replace Jose Mourinho at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The 47-year-old left Wolves at the end of the season after four years in charge and has been linked with Crystal Palace and Everton.

Should he land the Spurs job, he wants England international Coady to join him, according to Football Insider.
The Portuguese boss regarded the Liverpool academy product as his “lieutenant” at Wolves and is keen to have his leadership qualities at his disposal at Spurs.
Fabio Paratici, the new managing director of football, is expected to play a role in future transfers and will be the man – along with Daniel Levy – that will need to be persuaded to chase Coady.
The 28-year-old centre-back was also discussed by Nuno in negotiations with Everton earlier this month, before those talks fell through.
But Nuno is reportedly a bit further in discussions with Spurs over their managerial vacancy, with the report claiming he has agreed terms with the club.
Coady is currently on international duty with England at Euro 2020 but is yet to make an appearance.
John Stones and Harry Maguire are Gareth Southgate’s first choice duo, while Tyrone Mings filled in admirably as Maguire recovered from injury in the opening two games against Croatia and Scotland.
But the Wolves man explained how Southgate’s pre-Euro 2020 speech gave him goosebumps.
“The whole talk from the gaffer and what we talked about was incredible,” Coady said.
“It was something we didn’t expect. It gave me goosebumps watching the video and hearing him. He spoke about our own legacy and creating memories for people of this country.
“What we’ve all been through this year and what we’re all looking forward to now over what we hope is the next four or five weeks. He spoke about the sun shining on ourselves.”
