News on SD Airtime on FOX, Tentative Date For WWE’s Saudi Event

FOX has apparently not made a decision on whether to air SmackDown in The Live 5-7PM time-slot on The West Coast or in The Delayed 8-10 PM time-slot instead, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Ratings would undoubtedly be better if the show aired later and it would also be difficult to pre-empt all the 6PM News Programs that air on the local affiliates. However, FOX is positioning WWE as “sports” which would imply that they would want it to air live.

WWE is scheduled to return to Saudi Arabia for their next show on May 3rd and then again later in the year in The November time-frame. Not much more is known except that the company has dropped The “Crown Jewel” Name in favor of The “World Cup” due to all the controversy surrounding the last event.
