Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has had a cheeky dig at Bruno Fernandes and Man Utd over the amount of penalties they have been awarded this season.

The Portugal international has had a major impact since arriving in the Premier League, with his ten goals and eight assists coinciding with an upturn in the team’s results.

The partnership between Paul Pogba and Fernandes has blossomed post-shutdown and Man Utd are playing some good football, with Solskjaer’s side currently on a long unbeaten run in the Premier League.

Six wins and three draws in their nine Premier League matches since the Premier League resumed in June has seen them finish in third place and qualify for the Champions League next term.

Man Utd set a Premier League record in their final match of the season against Leicester City when they were given a penalty, which meant the Red Devils have now been awarded the most spot kicks in a Premier League season, with 14 to their name.

Fernandes has been on penalty kick duty since moving to Old Trafford in January and Mourinho couldn’t resist having a little bite at Man Utd over the amount of penalties they have been given this season.

Mourinho told Portuguese newspaper Record: “Bruno came in, was fit, played very well, improved the United team and also proved to be a great penalty taker, one of the best in the world, because he had about 20 to score”.
