Meryl Streep’s Daughter Mamie Gummer Is Expecting Her First Child

The great Meryl Streep once remarked that she can’t wait to play both moms and grandmas, “as long as they are good grandmother roles” — but it looks like that prophecy won’t just be fulfilled on screen.

Streep’s eldest daughter, The Good Wife actress Mamie Gummer is pregnant! The 35-year-old is expecting her first child with fiancé Mehar Sethi, according to USA Today.

Baby Gummer-Sethi will be Meryl’s first grandchild. Gummer and Sethi got engaged back in August in Croatia, and details of their relationship are kept pretty private. Meryl is famously cagey about sharing too much about her personal life, preferring to keep her family’s affairs equally out of the public eye. Even so, Mamie has spoken out about her relatively normal upbringing.

“I’ve been watching her my whole life,” Mamie told The Telegraph. “Not just how she acts — if she has a secret to her success, she hasn’t passed that on — but how she behaves and interacts with the world; like any kid does with a parent.”
