Man Utd face ‘moral dilemma’ as loan extension could cost them £60m
Man Utd are facing a dilemma over whether to allow Dean Henderson to extend his loan at Sheffield United with the decision potentially costing them millions of pounds, according to reports.
Henderson has been in fine form on loan at Sheffield United from Man Utd this season (making Jamie Carragher’s team of the season) and has been touted as replacing David de Gea on his return to his parent club.
The 23-year-old has kept an impressive ten clean sheets for the Blades this season, and was expected to be named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the friendlies against Italy and Denmark before those games were postponed.

There are no guarantees that the Premier League season will restart, but if Sheffield United win their game in hand they would move above Man Utd in the Premier League table.
Fifth place could be enough to qualify for the Champions League this season if Manchester City’s two-year Champions League ban is upheld and The Sun now claims that Man Utd face a ‘moral dilemma’ over Henderson.
Allowing him to remain at Bramall Lane past the June 30 expiration of his loan deal could cost them at least £60m in revenue from Champions League qualification.
The report adds:
‘Henderson is among eight players on loan to a Prem rival whose contracts expire on June 30.
‘While a vote next Monday is expected to see an agreement that on-loan players can stay to the end of the season, all owner clubs will have the right to veto the extensions.’
The Sun continues by saying that Henderson wouldn’t be allowed to play for Man Utd if he returned but it would deal a bitter blow to Sheffield United’s chances of qualifying for Europe.
