Main Event Officially Announced for WWE Clash of Champions; Who Will Challenge AJ Styles for the Title?

September 24, 2021 0 By HearthstoneYarns

Following tonight’s episode of WWE Smackdown, we now have a look at which match will headline the upcoming WWE Clash of Champions pay-per-view on December 17th.

Jinder Mahal has officially invoked his rematch clause for the WWE Championship, and will challenge AJ Styles at the event. Styles defeated Mahal for the belt two weeks ago in a surprise victory during the company’s European tour, thereby replacing him in a massive Champion vs. Champion match against Brock Lesnar at this past weekend’s Survivor Series pay-per-view.

Clash of Champions emanates live from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts and will be a Smackdown exclusive pay-per-view.  The venue is something of a “home court” for John Cena, who hails from West Newbury, Mass. and has created numerous memorable moments in that arena over the years. No news yet on whether or not the 16-time world champion and “free agent” will appear at the event, but we’ll keep you updated.
