According to the BBC, the Reds now look set to reward Alisson for his efforts with a major new contract.
That’s despite his current deal lasting until 2024, which he signed when joining from Roma in 2018.
The 28-year-old will receive a big increase on his £150,000-a-week salary as Liverpool attempt to tie him down to fresh terms.
The Anfield club will open negotiations with Alisson and his agent once he returns from international duty with Brazil.
He is currently preparing for their World Cup qualifier against Ecuador on Saturday. They then face Paraguay on Wednesday before the start of the Copa America.
The report states that Liverpool are keen to begin contract discussions with several other first team players.
They’re hoping to avoid a repeat of Gini Wijnaldum leaving on a free transfer. The Dutchman is close to following in the footsteps of Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia by joining Barcelona.
Alisson is certainly one of the Reds’ key players, so it’s clear to see why he’s been lined up for a new deal.
The keeper has made a huge impact to Jurgen Klopp‘s men since his debut in August 2018.
He’s given them a solid foundation to build on, with the signing of Virgil van Dijk also adding to their defensive dependability.

Alisson and van Dijk formed a solid partnership in 2019/20 as Liverpool won their first ever Premier League title.
