Leicester bid for Daka not accepted despite reports
Leicester City are not close to completing the signing of Patson Daka from RB Salzburg, despite reports suggesting that it is a done deal.
Journalist Constantin Eckner has claimed that a deal is not close, which contradicts the claims of Fabrizio Romano, who has said that a bid and personal terms had been agreed.
Daka has been at the Austrian side since 2017, and scored 27 goals in 28 league games in the season just gone by.

His stellar campaign won him the Austrian Bundesliga Player of the Season award and helped him gain the attention of Arsenal, Liverpool and Leicester.
The Zambian’s current contract with Salzburg runs until the end of the 2023/24 season and will reportedly cost the Foxes £17million.
Eckner says that Daka will join the Premier League club this summer, but claims that their offer has not been accepted by the Austrian champions yet.
The 22-year-old could well be the long term alternative to Jamie Vardy, who turned 34 earlier this year.
Leicester are not wasting any time to get their transfer business done. They have reportedly sealed the signing of Lille midfielder Boubakary Soumare for €25m.
Elsewhere at the club, attacking midfielder James Maddison has been linked with a move to the Gunners.
The north London club could make a move for the Leicester man as Martin Odegaard looks set to stay at Real Madrid.
The 24-year-old made 31 appearances in the league last season, scoring eight goals and registering five assists.
According to reliable football.london journalist Chris Wheatley the Gunners have identified Maddison as a target, but the fee Leicester are likely to demand could be an issue.
Maddison also recently signed a long term contract with FA Cup winners until June 2024 believed to be worth around £95,000 per week.
Chelsea are also interested in Maddison as they look to build on their Champions League success by strengthening their squad ahead of a Premier League title challenge.
The blues would be interested in the playmaker if Hakim Ziyech was to leave Stamford Bridge who has been linked with a move to Italy with both Napoli and AC Milan said to be interested.
