Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has been full of praise for Tottenham forward Harry Kane ahead of their meeting on Sunday at Stamford Bridge.

Kane has enjoyed a fantastic start to the new season. Alongside Heung-Min Son, he has spearheaded Tottenham’s great beginning to the new campaign.

The Englishman has always been a superb goalscorer, but his game has adapted of late under Jose Mourinho.

Big Weekend: Chelsea v Spurs, Robertson, Man United, Arteta

Kane has started to play slightly deeper, which has allowed him to get more assists for his teammates. He has an impressive 13 goals and 11 assists from his 15 outings in all competitions so far this campaign.

This form has helped Spurs move to the top of the Premier League after nine games. Mourinho’s men are level with Liverpool at the top with 20 points.

Tottenham hope to kick on from their win over Man City last weekend as they face Lampard’s Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this Sunday.

Lampard was asked about Kane during his Friday press conference, and his response has been cited by Mail Online:

“He [Kane] has matured as a player; he is a very impressive player.

“I think he is an intelligent player and that is why they are in a strong position. Harry Kane is in a sweet spot at the moment.”

Liverpool were meant to run out of steam. David Moyes wasn’t supposed to still be in a job. Oops.
