Iran Plane Crashes Into Mountain, All 66 Passengers Killed

An Iranian commercial plane with 66 people on board crashed on Sunday in a foggy, mountainous region of southern Iran, state media reported. The death toll from the crash has not yet been confirmed as the site of the accident is not accessible, according to the airline.

An Aseman Airlines ATR-72, a twin-engine turboprop used for short-distance regional flying, went down near its destination of the southern Iranian city of Yasuj, some 780 kilometers (485 miles) south of the Iranian capital, Tehran.
