Heidi Klum has actually been married to Tom Kaulitz since February

Rare is the occasion that celebrity sightings go under the radar. Holidays, coffee runs, press events—all are heavily documented by the paparazzi and the press for the world to see and circulate. So, it comes as a surprise that former Project Runway host and supermodel Heidi Klum managed to get married to musician Tom Kaulitz without any fanfare back in February.

The German native, 46, and Tokio Hotel musician Kaulitz, 29 (also German born), began dating in early 2018. Their relationship escalated quickly and Kaulitz proposed later that year on December 24, solidifying their whirlwind romance.

Taking to Twitter and Instagram (the model has amassed a digital following of 6.4 million on the photo sharing platform alone) to share the news with her fans, Klum marked the occasion with the caption ‘I SAID YES’ that accompanied a black and white photograph of the pair smiling behind Klum’s beautiful ring.

Now, as per People, public records have revealed that the pair secured a confidential marriage certificate in California in February of this year, a mere two months after their engagement. It is also reported that the wedding date was carefully chosen—the pair first met on February 22, 2018—making their special day a full circle moment.

Klum, who is mum to four children—Lou, 10, Leni, 15, Henry, 14 and Johan, 12—made a public display of affection for her now-husband Kaulitz in September 2018 while filming America’s Got Talent. As revealed to People, Klum admitted, “He is the kindest, sweetest, most caring, loving person. I feel so lucky. I don’t know the last time I was this happy in my life.” She continues: “He is absolutely wonderful. Maybe it is because he is German and we understand each other in a different way. But so far so good.”  

Klum’s marriage to Kaulitz marks the model’s third marriage. Previously, Klum was married to British singer-songwriter, Seal from 2005-2014, and Australian actor Ric Pipino from 1997-2002.

The Sports Illustrated cover star and former Victoria’s Secret Angel (Klum was the first-ever German model to gain a pair of wings) is currently filming Making the Cut with Tim Gunn. The show, which is a fashion competition series and which will feature guest judges such as Naomi Campbell, Carine Roitfeld and Joseph Altuzarra, is set to premiere in 2020.
