Guardiola agrees new contract to extend Man City stay

Pep Guardiola has agreed a new contract to extend his stay at Manchester City.

There has been persistent speculation over the Spaniard’s future at the Etihad with seven months left to run on the existing deal.

Guardiola has consistently stated his desire to extend his stay with Man City and has now reportedly agreed an extension that will take him beyond the 2021-22 season.

Should he see out the new deal that would represent six years at the helm, considerably longer than his spells at both Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

City were always keen to tie Pep to a new deal and now terms have been agreed, all their focus can now be on planning for the future.

Guardiola has won six major trophies as manager of City – including consecutive league titles in 2018 and 2019.

But he now faces arguably his biggest challenge in management after he looks to turn the tide on Liverpool’s current dominance of the English top flight.

Just about all of the greatest uncapped Premier League players ever were pursued by England. And only four of them were English.
