Gossip: Liverpool willing to sell ‘unhappy’ Salah

SALAH SALE CONSIDERED BY LIVERPOOL
Mo Salah was the hottest topic in the Gossip on Sunday and still this morning doubts are swirling around the Liverpool star’s future.

Salah has seemingly opened the door for Barcelona or Real Madrid to make Liverpool an offer they can’t refuse. Which may be futile since Real are scrimping to penny up for the targets they already had, while Barca have barely a pot to p*ss in.

That, though, hasn’t stopped Salah from thinking about leaving Liverpool. Not according to Mohamed Aboutika.

The former Egypt star, capped 100 times, claims his former international team-mate told him that he is ‘not happy in Liverpool’ and the club are considering selling Salah ‘for economic reasons’.

Aboutika revealed to BeIN Sports: “He told me the reasons why he is not happy but they are secrets and I cannot talk about it in public.” Immediately before he talks about one of them in public…

“One of the reasons that made Salah angry is that he was not the captain against Midtjylland.” But we already knew that.

MAN UTD IN HUNT FOR SEAGULLS STAR
Yves Bissouma is a man in demand. We already knew that too – Liverpool have been tentatively linked with the Brighton midfielder for some time. But now Manchester United’s name has been chucked into the mix.

The Daily Express have recycled a tweet from United-supporting freelance journo Jonathan Shrager, who claims to have had it from the horse’s mouth – the horse’s agent, at least – that the Red Devils have registered their interest in Bissouma.

United, it is claimed, are one of six teams in for the Mali star. Liverpool and Arsenal are also said to be keen, as well as a couple of La Liga sides, while Monaco could offer Bissouma the chance to return to France, where he played with Lille prior to joining Brighton in 2018.

BARCA TO BAG BARGAIN DEPAY
Presumably the two Spanish clubs eyeing up Bissouma aren’t Real or Barca. But both teams are making plans for 2021…

Most pressing for Barca is Memphis Depay and there is some good news for the Catalans on that front. L’Equipe reckons the Lyon winger would only cost £5million next month, a sum they might find down the back of the Nou Camp sofa if that particular revenue stream hasn’t already been drained.

One sign of the dire financial situation at Barca is the identity of the players being promised to supporters by presidential candidates should they win next year’s election. The Mirror says Joan Laporta wants to bring Hector Bellerin back to Barca, which may have been a vote winner four years ago.

Real have been saving for Kylian Mbappe, but 90min is claiming that the PSG star could cost ‘likely in excess of £200million’. Which seems a tad excessive given Mbappe is approaching the final year of his contract.

Still, they story goes that Real are structuring a deal in instalments that would allow them to pursue their other targets – namely Paul Pogba and Eduardo Camavinga.
