Former Germany and Real Madrid defender Christoph Metzelder is being investigated over allegations of distributing child pornography.
The 38-year-old has been accused of sending messages containing inappropriate images of children via WhatsApp to a recipient in Hamburg, according to talkSPORT.
Metzelder is said to have co-operated with Hamburg police during the investigation.

The former centre-back began his career with Prussia Munster before moving to Borussia Dortmund, where he enjoyed a successful seven-years.
This earned him a move to Real Madrid in 2007.
