As The TAB Everest
race day nears, so too does the time to start planning your trip to Sydney’s Royal Randwick Racecourse on Saturday October 19 for what has become known as the world’s richest race on turf.

While the $14 million race is sure to captivate the crowds, there are also a number of other aspects of the day that you absolutely should not miss.

Most notably, international pop star and television personality Kelly Rowland is slated to take to the stage inside Royal Randwick’s celebrated Theatre Of The Horse to perform a 45-minute concert following the final race of the day.

“Royal Randwick is heading for another sold out race day as the world watches the richest race on turf and then a bona fide international star in Kelly Rowland after the last race,” general manager commercial Corina Black revealed via a statement from the Australian Turf Club.

On top of Rowland’s must-see performance, the Australian Turf Club is also making the most of the richest race day and unveiling its new Palm Springs-inspired precinct, coined Pony Palms, on the popular Leger Lawn.

Being touted as the number one trackside destination, the precinct is proud to host live DJs, including saxophone player Nat Sax, cocktails in poolside cabanas, and the Colgate Optic White Smile Studio, which will see to it that your beauty look is on point all day long, courtesy of make-up artists and a fully-stocked concierge station.

In terms of your attire—which is arguably the most important element of the day—as The TAB Everest
race day is a daytime event, it calls for guests to steer clear of glamorous ball gowns and short-hemmed dresses, instead encouraging that they opt for ensembles that embody elegance. The Australian Turf Club is also encouraging guests to incorporate a splash of light blue into their outfits on the big day.

Whether you decided to dabble in bold and brave silhouettes this Everest race day and sport a power suit in a striking hue, or play it safe with an understated ensemble elevated by chic accessories, the opportunity to participate in the Harrolds Fashion Chute is one you won’t want to pass up.

Before heading out after the race, be sure to stop by the The Everest Trophy photo moment for a chance to take a photo beside the richest race’s prize, which features 8463 black diamonds, 592 white diamonds and 2 rubies valued at $625,000.
