Everton, Wolves ‘pressing’ for Ligue 1 centre-back
Everton and Wolves are challenging AC Milan for the signing of Strasbourg centre-back Mohamed Simakan, according to reports in Italy.
The 20-year-old made his first-team breakthrough for the French side last season. He made his full debut in August 2019 against Metz, as he played the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw.
Simakan went onto make 25 appearances for Strasbourg in all competitions in 2019/20. This included 19 outings in Ligue 1, 17 of which came as part of the starting XI.

The defender’s impressive showings last season has led to him being instilled as an ever-present this so far term.
Simakan has played 90 minutes in all 16 of Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 outings this season. He has now made over 40 appearances for the French outfit since breaking into the first-team last season.
His performance in Ligue 1 has alerted clubs around Europe. AC Milan have been among the clubs chasing him.
Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web have reported that the Serie A side are in discussions with Strasbourg over the signing. It is believed that a fee between €15m and €20m will be needed to sign the youngster.
But the report has added that both Everton and Wolves are also chasing the defender’s signature. It is said that the Premier League duo are ‘pressing’ to sign the defender, hoping that a move to the Premier League could tempt the player into turning down AC Milan.
