Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has picked a new spot-kick taker at Manchester United’s ‘penalty farce’ over the weekend, according to reports.

United continued their solid start to the Premier League season with a draw at Molineux, having beaten Chelsea in their first game.

Marcus Rashford converted a penalty in that victory at Old Trafford, but watched on as an underwhelming Paul Pogba both took and missed a spot kick on Monday.

The England international has faced criticism for appearing to allow Pogba to take the penalty, with Ryan Giggs surprised he wasn’t “demanding to take it”.

The Sun claims that Solskjaer ‘tore into’ the pair for ‘failing to decide who was on duty before kick-off’ following the incident in the second half.

The report adds that Rashford has now been named the new penalty taker after Solskjaer was left ’embarrassed’.

Despite not publicly criticising either player, it was a ‘different matter behind the scenes’ for Solskjaer, while Pogba ‘apologised to his team-mates’ in the dressing room after the match.
