Designer Misha Nonoo’s wedding had almost as many royals on the guest list as a royal wedding

American-based fashion designer Misha Nonoo married oil heir, Michael “Mikey” Hess, in a show-stopping, star-studded, three-day celebration in Italy over the weekend.

From the royals—think: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry—on the guest list, to the wedding venue and the actual celebration itself, Nonoo’s wedding sounded like one for the wedding history books, and prior to the weekend, was being billed by some as “the wedding of the year”.

According to Hello!, Nonoo and Hess’s three-day nuptials kicked off on Thursday evening with a pre-wedding dinner hosted by the bride and groom in Rome. Per the publication, model Karlie Kloss and her husband Joshua Kushner along with Katy Perry and her fiancé, Orlando Bloom, joined the couple for the pre-wedding kick-off dinner.

The nuptials themselves were held on Friday evening, September 20, at Villa Aurelia, a 17th century villa with views over Rome. reports the ceremony was held at 6pm to “coincide with the sunset”, ensuring spectacular background lighting and photographs. Following the ceremony, the bride and groom then held a dinner followed by dancing at the wedding venue.

The couple’s Friday sunset ceremony was attended by a roll call of celebrities and royals including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle—who wore a stunning semi-sheer embellished Valentino dress—Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice as well as the Thursday evening’s pre-wedding dinner guests—Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner. Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, were also in attendance, as was James Corden, Paul McCartney and Gayle King.

According to the Daily Mail, one of the highlights of the couple’s nuptials was a light-hearted song performed by the groom, Paul McCartney and James Corden.

Following Friday night’s ceremony and reception, the newlyweds hosted a lunch on Saturday, September 21—an event Markle and Prince Harry reportedly weren’t in attendance at, as they had already headed off early on Saturday morning to prepare for their royal tour of Africa—followed by another special dinner held in the Cinecittà film studios, with a fittingly silver screen-inspired theme of La Dolce Vita.
