Dalglish: Liverpool will return to the location of their ‘greatest moment’
Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has backed his former club to defeat Real Madrid and Chelsea to reach the Champions League final in Istanbul.

The Reds booked their place in the Champions League quarter-finals with a 4-0 aggregate victory over RB Leipzig.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have been drawn to face Real Madrid in the last eight. Should they advance, they will face either Chelsea or Porto in the semi-finals.

This year’s final takes place in Instanbul, the location of their win in 2005. Dalglish told talkSPORT that Liverpool are still a team that can go places:
“[Liverpool] are still a threat. They’re still a team to be proud of and that can go places. They are still in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
“When the draw came out, when have you ever been happy drawing Real Madrid? You were happy to draw Real Madrid because you’ve missed Bayern Munich and Man City. Those two get each other if they reach the semi-final.
“If they can beat Real Madrid they can go all the way to the final. The final just happens to be at one of the greatest moments in Liverpool’s history at the Attaturk Stadium in Istanbul.
“Chelsea came and beat us at Anfield. [Thomas] Tuchel’s done a great job with them. He’s been on a great run.
“We’ll beat them in the semi-final like before with Luis Garcia knocking it in!”
During the same interview, Dalglish insisted that Liverpool have missed their fans this season:
He added: “We miss the fans because they get the players up and get full support from the fans. We’ve always paid great tribute to them and rightly so and how important a role they’ve played in the success we’ve had.
“The visiting team, they also get the benefit because there’s nobody there cheering on Liverpool and they think they’re better than they actually are.
“I don’t think what’s happened defensively as well, getting four or five injuries to the centre backs helped. It destabilised the team a bit.
“Two central midfield players who were pretty dominant in that area, Jordan coming back into the back four and playing 20 yards back.
“The passes they were hitting weren’t as incisive as they were hitting before. They weren’t 20 yards back breaking the opposing down.”
