Conflicting reports as Liverpool are linked with Watford star
There are conflicting reports over interest from Liverpool in Watford winger Ismaila Sarr amid speculation he could leave Vicarage Road.
Sarr was among a number of deadline-day signings made by then-manager Javi Gracia in 2019 and he has undoubtedly proved to be the most successful.
The Hornets broke their record fee for the Senegal international, and despite being linked with a number of clubs the following summer when the club were relegated, including the likes of Manchester United and Liverpool, Sarr elected to stay at Watford.

He bagged 13 goals and led from the front as Watford achieved automatic promotion by finishing second in the Championship last season.
90min claimed on Thursday that Liverpool are after Sarr again this summer with the Reds said to be ‘lining up a move’.
They added that Jurgen Klopp ‘wants to bring in a new winger, with Sarr emerging as one of his top summer targets’
90min added:
‘Sources with knowledge of the situation have confirmed to us that Liverpool have now rekindled their interest in Sarr and have made a move for the Senegalese forward.
‘Liverpool are ready to pay up to £40m for Sarr, who is aware of the interest. He has told the Hornets that he wants to be allowed to make the move, although it remains to be seen if the Reds’ value of the player is sufficient.’
But the Watford Observer understands that ‘there is yet to have been any serious or formal approach’ from Liverpool or any other club for Sarr.
On rumours linking him with a move in the summer, Sarr told the Watford Observer in April: “I think they are just rumours because I’m enjoying it here.
“I still have three years on my contract, and I’m focused on Watford and I want to stay.”
Sarr’s agent, Thierno Seydi, claimed in February that Liverpool had a contract ready for the Watford winger to sign in January.
Seydi told Panafricanfootball: “With Liverpool, a few days ago, we were at the stage of signing the contract that would tie the Reds to Ismaila Sarr.
“Everything was sorted: the monthly wages and the length of the deal. I’d even asked Sadio Mane to find him an apartment.

“But in the end, the English club weren’t able to put the €40m on the table to finalise the affair.
“You have to say that if English clubs that once animated the transfer window are struggling to put funds together, that shows the depth of the crisis affecting football.”
