Cody Rhodes Makes Major Full Gear Announcement in Emotional Segment

If Cody Rhodes does not defeat Chris Jericho to win the AEW World Championship this Saturday at Full Gear, he will never challenge for the title again.

A clearly emotional “American Nightmare” addressed the fans on Wednesday night in the opening half-hour of AEW Dynamite. Cody emphatically stated that this match will not be about his father, Dusty Rhodes, but rather about the 14 years of blood, sweat and tears he has shed in the buildup to becoming world’s champion.

Rhodes went so far as to call out Jericho as a “carny succubus” who feeds off the current generation of up-and-coming talents, and that is why he has surrounded himself with the future of wrestling in The Inner Circle.
