Brumbies to light the night in Leukaemia walk
The Brumbies will all have captain Christian Lealiifano in their thoughts as they Light the Night for the Leukaemia Foundation this weekend.
Jarrad Butler is the team’s ambassador for the event, while CEO Phil Thomson is well on the way to raising $5,000 for his involvement in the walk.
Butler said this year’s rendition would be extra significant for the team, after Lealiifano was diagnosed with leukaemia earlier this year.
“I think the group as a whole is really excited to get the opportunity to do something a little bit different for the leukaemia foundation,” he said.
“Obviously it means a little bit more to us as a Brumbies family for Christian and I think guys are really keen to do it and show a little bit of support.
“I think we are a pretty tight knit unit as a whole.
“Bruzzy’s such a massive part of the squad, so to kind of get in some ways guys have really rallied together to be as supportive as possible and it’s just another small way that we can show that we’re all behind it.

“It’s good for the Leukaemia Foundation in general as well to show some awareness.”
Super Rugby franchises have been a part of the Leukaemia Foundation’s events in other states, including in Queensland and NSW.
