Brave Chandra Shekhar Azad Sacrificed His Life Fighting The British In Allahabad On This Day

Chandra Shekhar Azad, the name that evokes nationalist because the brave freedom fighter continues to inspire youths across the country with his courageous life story. He was just 15 when the British first apprehended him while supporting the non-cooperation movement in 1921. When the officer asked him his name, father’s name and residence, he answered Azad, Swatantrata and Jail, respectively and thus was born a revolutionary who contribution in India’s freedom struggle is unparallel.

Azad is seen as somebody who lived and died by his name and remained free ever after his first capture. He sacrificed his life on 27 February in Allahabad’s Park in 1931 by shooting self after being left with thelast bullet in an encounter against the British.
