Big Backstage Update On The Rock’s Status For WrestleMania 34

WWE Raw star Elias, who has been gaining momentum in WWE as of late, finds himself without a match or any announced plans at WrestleMania 34.

Elias has teased on social media and in recent interviews that he will be doing some type of grand performance at the event on Sunday night, but aside from the teases nothing has been confirmed.

In a recent interview with Guitar World, Elias had the following to say about a potential WrestleMania 34 performance:

“Yes, it would be an injustice if Elias was at Wrestlemania and not performing in front of millions of people around the world, nearly 70,000 in attendance, it would be an absolute injustice. I will be performing, it will be an amazing memorable performance, unlike anything you’ve seen Elias do in the past.”

One of the possible reasons why WWE has yet to announce anything for Elias is because the company was holding out hope that they could get The Rock to appear at WrestleMania, and do some type of musical performance alongside Elias.

According to Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, the segment idea has been scrapped, as WWE was not able to get a commitment from The Rock to appear at WrestleMania 34, and The Great One will likely be missing this year’s big event.

The report furthers the original plan would have been for The Rock to revive his “Rock Concert” segment, and it would have featured names like Elias, Jeff Jarrett and others.
