Barcelona willing to let £50m forward join Arsenal – but not on loan
Barcelona are prepared to let forward Malcom join Arsenal this summer but want to get rid of him permanently, according to reports.
The Brazilian made 19 appearances last campaign in all competitions for Barcelona, scoring one goal and assisting two in nine starts.
Malcom joined the Catalan giants for £37m from French side Bordeaux last summer but the deal hasn’t worked out how they would have hoped.
And a report in Spanish publication Sport claim that Arsenal remain interested in Malcom but they would rather part with cash for other targets.
Malcom had a meeting planned with the Barcelona hierarchy to two weeks ago discuss his possible departure, but he failed to turn up to the meeting.
The former Corinthians man wants to move to England but the report adds that there is also interest from other clubs in England and Italy.
It is a very similar situation to last January when reports said that the Gunners asked Barca ‘to let them have’ winger Malcom on loan before Barca ‘would demand £50m’ for the permanent deal.
