Backstage News on Why Jake Hager Has Yet to Wrestle on AEW Dynamite

Jake Hager, formerly known as Jack Swagger in WWE, was one of the big surprises on the premiere episode of AEW Dynamite just two weeks ago, but the former world champion has yet to actually wrestle a match since joining up with Chris Jericho’s new “Inner Circle” faction.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hager is working under an agreement that he will not wrestle until after his fight against Anthony Garrett for Bellator MMA, which takes place on October 25.

He has appeared on each episode of AEW Dynamite thus far and will continue to do so, but the first show he would actually be eligible to compete on would be the October 30 edition. They could also hold off to make a bigger deal of his in-ring debut at the Full Gear pay-per-view on November 4.

Hager is 2-0 as a heavyweight fighter for Bellator, racking up both wins this year. He defeated J.W. Kiser with an arm triangle submission in the first round on January 26, and did the same to T.J. Jones on May 11.
