Backstage News on Ronda Rousey's Raw Promo & Paul Heyman Helping With It

— In a follow-up to an earlier post about Ronda Rousey writing her recent Raw promo, the Observer reports that she did indeed write most of it and used her own words in the delivery. Her segments as of late have been produced by Paul Heyman – who we noted recently is still working in a backstage capacity for WWE – because she’s most comfortable with him and Heyman is the person who has the best knowledge of Rousey’s character and career.

— The Observer further notes that Heyman gave Rousey instructions specific to her promo and some key spots to hit (such as the John Cena bedroom line, leeching off their men, etc.) but she ended up using her own words, including some of the lines and phrases that ended up sounding awkward.

— While Rousy has been friends with Nikki Bella even before she came to WWE, the belief is that WWE let Rousey channel a lot of her “passion” and real life feelings regarding “hot women who do nothing but get by on their looks” which is why according to a lot of people, the segment came across so well as she was speaking what she felt.
