Jack Grealish was Villa’s top scorer with ten, and their most prolific striker this season was Wesley, despite being injured since January.
And Origi is high up Smith’s wish list, according to The Sun.
The 25-year-old has found his game time at Anfield limited, failing to displace Liverpool’s star trio of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
And with Euro 2020 now set to take place next summer, the Belgium international will be eager to see more time on the pitch to secure his place at the tournament.
Money is thought to be tight for Jurgen Klopp, but Origi could be one of few Reds he would be willing to offload for the right price.
