Arsenal eye Newcastle goalkeeper to challenge Leno
Arsenal are plotting a move for Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman, according to reports.
The 23-year-old joined Newcastle from Crystal Palace in 2013. He is yet to make a senior appearance for the Magpies with him spending the last few years away on loan.
Woodman has had spells at Crawley Town, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen in recent years. He joined Championship side Swansea City on loan for the 2019/20 campaign.

He made 43 league appearances for the Swans last term in what was his breakout season in senior football. In August 2020 it was confirmed that Woodman would also spend the 2020/21 campaign with Swansea.
The goalkeeper has made 24 appearances for them so far this season. Over the years he has been capped at every youth level for England from U16s to the U21s.
Arsenal signed Runar Alex Runarsson this summer to replace Emiliano Martinez who joined Aston Villa for £20m.
The Icelandic international has made five appearances for the Gunners this season in Europe and the Carabao Cup.
But a few concerning showings has tempted Mikel Arteta back into the transfer market for a new goalkeeper.
Football London has reported that Woodman has been identified by Arsenal as a target this month. The report adds that this signing could see Runarsson leave on loan so he can build up some experience elsewhere.
