The end of the summer holidays is always a bittersweet time. On the one hand, sadness to farewell the long, lazy summer days, but on the other, excitement to be settling back into a routine with goals to achieve and projects to run. And, even the royals have to say goodbye to the summer holiday fun and hello to back to work and school at some point.

That point is apparently very soon. Hello! reports Kate Middleton, Prince William and their three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — have left the royal family’s Scottish residence, Balmoral Castle, after enjoying a few days there with The Queen, to head to their family home in Norfolk. From there, they will all travel to London for back to school (for Prince George and Princess Charlotte) and back to the royal office for Middleton and Prince William.

In a separate story, Hello! reports Kensington Palace has announced the details of the first official post-summer holiday engagement for Prince William. Per the publication, the Duke of Cambridge will pay a visit to Hendon Football Club in Kingsbury, London, on Friday September 6, “to learn more about the club’s mental health outreach initiatives, as part of the royals’ Heads Up campaign.”

The publication reports Kensington Palace hasn’t yet announced the Duchess of Cambridge’s first engagement, but it’s assumed it will be some time after Middleton takes Princess Charlotte, four, to her first day at Thomas’s Battersea school on Thursday, September 5. The four-year-old will be starting in “reception” at the school, joining her brother, Prince George, who is already a student there (Prince George will be going into year two when school goes back).

The Cambridges appear to have already started to turn their focus back towards their work, with E! News reporting the couple’s new iteration of their Royal Foundation — which Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were originally involved in, but recently split from to form their own — has started to take shape. The publication shared that the name of Middleton and Prince William’s foundation has, “officially been changed to ‘The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’”. The former title of the foundation was reportedly The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and The Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The formation of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new royal charity organisation also appears to be well underway, with the announcement in July of a name for their new organisation, which is called Sussex Royal for short, and Sussex Royal The Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, in full.
