CFE names Fashion Pioneer Programme winners
Centre for Fashion Enterprise (CFE), a fashion business incubator, has
chosen six-London based designers to join its New Fashion Pioneer
programme, starting this month for six months.
The London-based designers selected are: LVMH Grand Prix scholarship
winner Richard Malone; womenswear designer Min Wu; Lei Sihan of jewellery
brand LionStudio; sustainable design duo Gyo Kim and Yuni Choe of Gyo Yuni
Kimchoe; activewear designer Charli Cohen; and Fashion East menswear
designer Grace Wales Bonner.
The programme will support the designers with regular one-to-one
mentoring sessions as well as expert workshops on subjects including
business planning, finance, accounting, legal, production, marketing and
PR, as well as branding and digital.
Wendy Malem, director of the CFE, said: “These Pioneer designers
represent a new crop of talent who are breaking the mold. They redefine
what a fashion business is, and illustrate that today’s new designers can
explore design, fashion and product from a range of different angles with
sufficient talent to lead new markets.”
Previous fashion labels that have been assisted by the CFE’s initiatives
include Erdem, Thomas Tait, Marques’Almeida, Mary Katrantzou
