Following a fortnight filled with ever-fuelled rumours of their new-found romance, it looks like Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson are indeed dating.
But rather than taking Cyrus’s constant stream of social media posts as concrete evidence, we’re instead turning to words straight from a single party within the couple, with Simpson recently speaking out about his relationship with the Slide Away singer.
When questioned by reporters at the Tiffany & Co. men’s collections launch at the Hollywood Athletic Club on October 11 about whether Miley was ‘the one’, the musician confirmed his relationship, along with its level of seriousness, in a few words. “Oh, I don’t know,” he admitted, according to Us Weekly. “It’s too early to say.”
While Cyrus may not be Simpson’s ‘one’, all signs point to their relationship growing in seriousness by the day. While Cyrus was hospitalised for a case of tonsillitis, Simpson spent much of his time by the singer’s side, bringing her flowers and serenading her with the acoustic guitar he too brought along to his visit.
Of course, Cyrus streamed each of these sweet moments on her Instagram stories, dubbing Simpson as her “BF” in one of them, sealing her hospitalisation saga with yet another post showing her clutching a topless Simpson upon her return home.
At the very same Tiffany and Co. event, the 22-year-old shared his own side of his time with a sick Cyrus, explaining “she’s still recovering. She had tonsillitis and had surgery this week so I’ve just been trying to take care of her through all that,” he told E! News.
Continuing, Simpson also spoke of his future with Cyrus (well, at least the next few weeks), sharing that the two will pass what many would consider a serious relationship milestone by the end of the month: Halloween.
“We’re trying to think about costumes right now,” Simpson said to the same publication, before sharing the couple’s plans of potentially attending one of Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights.
And Simpson didn’t stop spilling the details there, expressing to People just how happy himself and Cyrus are together. “I’m very happy. We are very, very happy,” he said at the event. “She’s creative. She’s very passionate about what she does, and I’m very similar in that sense. That’s why we get along so well… we just have a ball, yeah, and that’s the most important part of a relationship, you know?”
But if confirmation from the couple, hospital visits and Halloween plans aren’t enough to convince you that their relationship is the real deal, perhaps meeting the parents is, the pair meeting with Cyrus’s mother, Tish, for breakfast on October 12.

Simpson’s relationship confessional occurred around the same time as Cyrus’s ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, was spotted in New York City with Australian actress Maddison Brown on what looked to be a post-date stroll. It also followed the recent split of Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter, the pair dating for a total of two months following her divorce.
