When it comes to love and romance, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle continue to prove that nothing, including royal protocol, will stand in the way of showing how they feel, regardless of whether they’re in public with multiple camera lenses trained on them or not.
In a sweet and totally loved-up regular couple moment, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a very public kiss on day two of their royal tour of South Africa. According to Hello! the duke and duchess (who was wearing a denim jacket, surely a royal tour wardrobe first?) had travelled to Monwabisi Beach in Cape Town for their first engagement of the day — to learn about surfing-based youth mental health organisation, Waves for Changes — and as Markle was heading back after their engagement to check in on their baby son, Archie, and Prince Harry was going on to a solo engagement, the couple kissed farewell just like any other couple would.
Except, they’re not a normal couple, he’s a prince and she’s a duchess, and royals showing affection in public is almost completely unheard of. But, Markle and Prince Harry have proved, since they first stepped out officially together at the Invictus Games in 2017, that they are rewriting the royal rule books and bringing modernity to the monarchy.

Indeed, during their 2018 royal tour of Australia, New Zealand, Tonga and Fiji, the couple had so many loved-up moments, public displays of affection (they held hands at every single opportunity) and unintentional reenactments of memorable scenes from rom-com movies, the tour could have almost been mistaken for a honeymoon.
Fast forward a year to their current royal tour, and even with a new baby — which tests many relationships, being a new parent is exhausting — the Sussexes appear as in love as ever. Not only did their kiss confirm this once again, but they further confirmed their “in love” status by also reportedly gushing about each other as parents.
According to Hello!, during their Waves for Change engagement — which involved a meditation session among other activities — the couple reportedly opened up about parenting, with Markle gushing that Prince Harry is “the best dad”, and Prince Harry gushing right back, saying Markle is “the best mum”. Cue: hearts exploding all over the world.
