Liverpool were rewarded for their Champions League victory at the Best FIFA awards in Milan by landing the men’s Coach of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year awards, but Virgil van Dijk missed out on the men’s player award to Lionel Messi.

Van Dijk and Alisson were also named in the FIFPro men’s world XI but there was no space for any of Liverpool’s forward three as Messi, Ronaldo and Kylian Mbappe were preferred.

No Manchester City player was included in the XI despite their Premier League title, but Eden Hazard was giving a place in the midfield after winning the Europa League.
