40 female relationships on film that remind us how good the sisterhood is
A scene from .
The power and importance of strong female relationships whether it’s between school friends, work colleagues, yoga practice pals, book/wine club members, sport teammates, siblings, mothers and daughters, other female family members or any females that happen to cross spheres in any circumstances, cannot be understated.
While it’s true that lovers will come and go, the bonds formed with the ladies in our lives are pretty much unbreakable. Highs, lows, tears, laughs, inside jokes, potential wardrobe swaps, the sisterhood has it all and more.
Importantly, every interaction and female relationship is nuanced and different and that’s what makes these friendships and relationships so memorable.
Even when the vibes from our sister, mother, childhood friend, work wife or, in the unlikely but not inconceivable case of a yoga buddy, are not as namaste as they could be, the bond is still there and will eventually form part of the narrative and richness of your life.
And, the days when we’re riding the wave of joyful, supportive female friendship after a particularly memorable time with the women in our lives, are some of the high points of life.
But, when we’re not busy spending time with or supporting the fabulous women in our own lives, is there any better way to spend a couple of hours than enjoying Hollywood’s take on these essential life-giving relationships?
Take BFFs Carmen, Tibby, Bridget and Lena in (above) — no matter where life takes them, these girls have each other’s back in a way only childhood friends forever tied together by a magic pair of jeans can have.
Or how about the relationship between co-workers Andy, Emily and their boss, Miranda, in ? That’s one fascinating take on an office dynamic.
Who didn’t love watching the hilarious but also incredibly supportive friendship between Rachel Chu and Peik Lin in ? Watching these relationships on screen is affirming in the best possible way.
