Top Star Returns from Injury at This Week’s WWE NXT TV Tapings (Spoilers)

Lars Sullivan returned to action during Thursday night’s WWE NXT television tapings at Full Sail University. The heavyweight brute wrestled a match against Raul Mendoza, and it is believed that he will be working a program with EC3 going forward.

Sullivan hasn’t been seen on television since facing then-NXT Champion Aleister Black at NXT Takeover: Chicago back in June, resulting in his first ever pinfall loss.

As far as we know, he suffered no legitimate injuries during the bout. Rather, his time away was more about selling the effects of the match, and he continued to work NXT Live events throughout July and August.

They shot an angle backstage at Takeover last weekend where EC3, following his match with Velveteen Dream, was asked about the mysterious attacker that took out Aleister Black the week prior. EC3 all but guaranteed that the unknown assailant was Sullivan, planting the seeds for a program between the two.
